Podcast | Platform as a Service (Paas) in the Hotel Industry

Posted on

This editorial podcast episode focuses on PaaS, Platform as a Service, in the hospitality industry.

Most of us are aware of Cloud Computing in the hospitality industry and that it has started to play a crucial role by now. Under cloud are supporting services, of which PaaS is one of them.

Also is Software as a Service (SaaS) which is perhaps the most common at this current time in the Hospitality Industry. Another one is Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), infrastructure-related services. These three elements show that the cloud now plays a significant role in many industries - is it now time for the hotel industry to capitalize on all elements of cloud computing?

Richard Castle from Cloudbed and Stephen Burke from Sciant join André Baljeu for this session to discuss questions such as:

  • Are there any technology companies today in the hospitality space that offer true PaaS?
  • What would be some of the key advantages for the hotel and travel industries if they began adopting true PaaS solutions?
  • What are some of the common solutions included in PaaS?
  • What are the disadvantages of PaaS?
